Angel saw several on the males in the lobby of Stevenson Hall gape at the stairs in appreciation. He turned to see Willow walking down them in the short black sundress and a pair of clunky-heeled sandals. Her hair looked purposely wild and her make-up gave her a rosy glow. Angel walked up to her and smiled. Some of his friends were really beautiful. He held out his arm for her. She took it with a weird smile on her face.

Willow was nervous. She felt naked in the sundress. Lots of people she knew were Bronzin' it tonight. She walked in on Angel's arm and spotted Xander and Anya on the dance floor. She scanned the room and saw Cordelia talking to some guys by the bar. She wasn't sure what Angel was up to, but she wanted to go home. No, she was going to hang out with her friend that she hadn't seen in a long time. They were going to have fun. She needed to find the fun.

Angel thought she might bolt as soon as they entered the Bronze. Then she relaxed. He scanned the room. Anya had mentioned Spike drank at the Bronze every Saturday night. So where the hell was he? Then Angel spotted him. Under the stairs, drinking a beer. Showtime. He walked Willow up to Cordelia. He made sure she didn't see Spike, but Spike saw her. Angel almost laughed when the younger vampire got a full view of Willow in that dress. And he didn't blame Spike one bit. If he had known how Willow was gonna turn out, he might have gone for her himself. Cordelia smiled as they leaned against the bar.

"Wow, Willow, you look great."

The guy next to Cordelia leaned over to look at her. It was Graham. "Willow? Buffy's friend?"

Willow smiled. "Hi, uh, Graham, right?"

"Yeah."

Cordelia looked at him. "You know Buffy?"

"Yeah, she's with Riley. He's one of my best friends."

"I went to Sunnydale High with Buffy."

"You went to Sunnydale High?"

"Class of '99. We blew up the school. So you're friends with Riley? You all GI Joe too?"

Graham sputtered in shock as Angel leaned over to the bartender "Two shots of tequila." Willow shook her head no at him. "You're nervous. It will loosen you a little."

The bartender sat the two shots in front of them. Willow stared at them. Suddenly she grabbed hers and downed it. She gasped and made a face. Angel was bringing his to his lips when she grabbed his and drank it too.

"Willow!"

Spike nearly dropped his beer when he saw her. He nearly dropped it again when he saw whose arm she was hanging off of. He felt like he needed to sit down when he saw her knock back the two shots. Damn, but she was gorgeous in that dress. He'd seen it when he'd snooped in her closet one time. He'd tried to imagine what she would look like in it, but his imaginings were nothing compared to the reality. His only questions were why was she here with hairboy? And why did he seem to have a hand on her at all times? And was he trying to get her drunk? She'd just had two shots of hard liquor, and she never drank.

Angel leaned down to Willow's ear. "Let's dance." He pulled her away. They walked to the dance floor, and Angel could feel Spike's eyes follow them. It was a slow song. He pulled Willow tight against him.

"Angel, what are you doing?"

"Dancing with a beautiful girl."

Her body was feeling a little warm. She started to feel a little removed from the room. She pulled back a little to look up at him. "What are you trying to do here?"

"Willow, I'm not trying anything. Just enjoy yourself. Pretend you're on a date with someone you like. When was the last time you had a date?"

"Hey."

"No offense, Willow."

"It's ok. Is sort of nice to be out."

"That's my girl."

The slow song ended and a faster one came on. Willow tried to walk off, but Angel grabbed her back to him. She gasped. He was grinning from ear to ear. She just could not get used to him smiling. He spun her out, then back, and dipped her. Willow couldn't help it. She started laughing. He pulled her back up so she was nose to nose with him.

The beer bottle exploded from the pressure of Spike's hand. What was his bloody sire playing at here? She was the slayer's best friend. You don't go after an ex-girl's best mate. It was poor form. He'd just have to end this now. For Buffy's sake. Yes, for Buffy's sake he would put a stop to that display. He strode out onto the dance floor only to be intercepted by Cordelia.

"So, Spike, some of the guys in here are getting way too flirty. Be a gentleman and dance with me?" She flashed her best smile at him.

"Bloody hell. Oh alright."

Cordelia led him onto the dance floor. That was close. He'd had murder in his eyes. This might be easier than she and Angel had thought it would be.

Buffy and Riley were met at the entrance to the Bronze by Graham and Forrest. Graham smiled Forrest glared.

"Hey, Buffy, be sure to tell your friend Willow she looked really good tonight. Oh, and tell her I'm available. Later Riley." Graham grinned and winked at Riley. He and Forrest left.

"Later."

Buffy looked confused. "What was that? Graham having a thing for Will. She so doesn't seem his type. I mean, oh I don't know what I mean."

Riley smiled at her. "I know what you mean." He looked out at the dance floor. His jaw dropped. "And now I think I know what Graham meant."

Buffy followed his gaze until it landed on a couple on the dance floor. Her jaw dropped. Her best friend was wearing the black sundress Anya had gotten her for her that she swore she'd never wear. And she was doing the best imitation on the sexy dance Buffy did with Xander all those years ago that Buffy had ever seen. With Angel. Buffy felt her heart constrict. Riley looked at her.

"Are you ok?"

"Yes. Let's dance."

From his place at the edge of the dance floor with Cordelia, Spike had seen the slayer's face when she saw them together. It surprised him that he felt bad for her. Sure, she'd moved on, but that didn't mean she wanted to see the poof with her best friend. Then the crowd parted a little, and he could see why she'd made that face. That damn bastard would lose his soul if he kept dancing with her like that. He'd make his move now. For Buffy's sake.

"Excuse me, Cordelia." He stomped off before the former cheerleader could grab him.

This was bad. She ran after him. He was almost to them when he felt Cordelia's hands on his arm. He turned his glare on her. "Leave off, princess."

"Look, Spike, do yourself a favor and don't lose your temper." She was practically growling at him. Spike would have been impressed if he hadn't been so pissed. He stalked over to Willow and Angel. Xander and Anya came to stand next to Cordelia.

"This should be fun." Both Cordelia and Anya glared at Xander.

Angel felt a tap on his shoulder and turned to see Spike standing there. His rage was barely under the surface. "May I cut in, mate?" His teeth were gritted.

"For a little while." Angel grinned, and Spike growled at him. Angel steeped aside to watch the fireworks.

Willow was stilling giggling when all of the sudden Angel was gone and she was pressed against someone else. The grip was so crushing she couldn't breathe. She squirmed around to see what was holding her so tight. Her face rubbed across soft leather. Two cold hands were on the small of her back and the base of her neck. She put her hands between the other body and herself and pushed. Her eyes met two cold blue ones.

"Spike?"

Anya watched as Angel handed Willow off to Spike. He came over to the table she, Xander, and Cordelia were at. He had a huge grin on his face. Anya studied him for a minute.

"OH!" He looked at the former demon. "Very smooth." She got it.

"Thank you."

Xander looked at his girlfriend. "What?"

"Xander, will you go get Cordelia and I two waters, please?" He didn't move. "Now."

"Uh, ok." He walked off, confused.

Anya looked at Angel. "I've been wanting to see this forever. Can I help?"

By the time Buffy and Riley managed to get on the dance floor, Angel was gone. Buffy looked for Willow and saw her in them arms of Spike. She looked around and spotted Angel at a table with Cordelia and Anya. He was watching Willow and Spike with a mischievous grin on his face. And she got it. It all made sense. She wanted to laugh at herself. Angel had handled her and Riley much better than she'd handled him and someone else. And he was only trying to force Spike's hand. She'd have to tell him this. He'd probably laugh at the fact that he could still make her jealous even when she's in love with someone else. She loved it when he laughed. She pulled Riley towards the table with her friends at it.

"I thought you wanted to dance."

"A girl can change her mind, can't she?"

Spike looked down at the redhead in his arms. "Fabulous dress, pet."

"What are you doing?" She was flushed from alcohol and exertion. She looked mad at him. She was forever mad at him. He could feel his calm slipping. The little witch could always send him flying off the handle. She really knew how to push his buttons.

"Dancing with you. What the bloody hell does it look like?"

"Well, I don't know what it looks like, but it feels like you're trying to suffocate me."

"Is that so? Well, maybe you like me to call Peaches back over so you can continue to practically fuck him on the dance floor."

Willow slapped him as hard as she could. His head turned with it. Several people turned to stare. Her eyes filled up with tears right before she spun on her heel and stomped out of the Bronze.

The occupants of the table watched in shock as the scene on the dance floor unfolded. Several of them were about to follow the redhead when Cordelia gasped and fell to the floor. Angel was at her side in an instant. Sweat had beaded up on her forehead. her breath was coming out in short rasps. She grabbed Angel's wrist in pain. He winced as her fingernails dug into his flesh.

Xander's eyes were wide. "Cordy?"

Angel looked up at the group. "She's just having a vision." Cordelia went limp in his arms. She moaned. Her eyes snapped open.

"Get Spike now. Willow's in danger."
