Willow sighed it had been two days since her walk in the park. Mostly all she could think about was that it had been two days since she had seen Spike. That was all that filled her mind. But she had decided it had been a fluke thing. Just a spur of the moment thing. It wouldn't happen again or anything. She sighed. It had definitely made her feel a lot better though. So here she was walking home and she felt as if she could do anything.

"Hello Red." Spike said from behind her. Willow stopped short. She instantly began to blush as she turned around. God he looks gorgeous, she thought. She could tell her face wasn't hiding her thoughts because Spike smiled at her.

"Hey." She said quietly. Spike walked up beside her.

"Need an escort?" He asked. Willow went to say no but found herself nodding her head.

"Yeah sure." She said. Spike smiled and they began to walk. She noticed they weren't heading anywhere near Stevenson Hall but she really didn't care.

"So how are you?" He asked politely.

"I'm fine." She said. "How are you?" Spike looked at her. No one had ever asked how he was. No one actually had ever cared.

"I'm doing all right myself." He said. Willow nodded.

"That's good." She said. A silence fell between them. "Was the other night a one time thing?" She asked suddenly. Spike looked at her in amusement.

"Maybe, maybe not." He replied. Willow sighed. She had expected an answer like that from him.

"Well see it would be nice to know if it was so I could prepare for it the next time it may or may not happen." She said. Spike smiled.

"Maybe I'd rather take you by surprise." He answered. He was enjoying teasing her. Willow shook her head.

"Some surprises aren't always good." She said. Spike shrugged.

"Well I guess it depends on how you look at it." He said.

"I'm looking at it from a rational point of view." She said. Spike laughed. "What?" She asked.

"I really wasn't expecting an answer to that, red." He said. Willow sighed.

"Oh." She said. Spike stopped laughing.

"I wasn't laughing at you pet." He said. Willow looked up at him smiling.

"Pet?" She asked. Spike looked away suddenly. He hadn't realized he had said that. He gave up fighting. He took her by the arms and kissed her. This time she pushed him away.

"What?" He asked. Willow looked at him furiously.

"Did you ever stop to think whether I wanted you to kiss me?" She asked. Spike thought about it.

"No actually I didn't." He said. Willow backed up a few steps.

"Well maybe I don't." She said in a very unsure voice. Spike smiled at her deviously.

"Do you mean that?" He asked. Willow looked at him uncertainly.

"Y-yes I do." She said. She turned around and began to walk away. Spike followed her.

"Look Willow I'm sorry then." He said. He sighed. "Women," He muttered. But never the less he chased after her. She kept her back to him. "Red listen I really am sorry." He said. Willow kept walking. "Will you hold on." He said. He grabbed her arm and turned her around. They stood staring at each other for just a moment. But a moment was all it took. Willow put her arms around his neck and kissed him. It was an impulse she couldn't resist. The kiss was short but sweet. He looked at her.

"Oh and maybe I don't want you kissing me." He teased. Willow smiled.

"Spike." She said.

"What?" He asked.

"Shut up." She said quietly. Spike smiled and pulled her closer. Then he kissed her again. For a moment Willow felt as if there were no ground below her and no sky above her. All she felt was his arms around her and her lips on his. That was all she wanted to feel. For Willow the kiss ended far too soon. Spike led Willow to a bench and they sat down. She put her head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around her. Willow had never felt so safe. For a moment they just sat together.

"Spike?" She asked. He looked down at her.

"What is it love?" He asked. She sighed.

"I don't want this moment to end." She said. Spike smiled at her and kissed the top of her red hair.

"It doesn't have to if you don't want it to." He said. Willow kissed him lightly.

"I don't." She whispered. And in that moment Spike lost his heart to the little witch. He knew he didn't stand a chance against her. He held her in his arms and they sat under the stars. For a just a few moments William the Bloody knew what heaven was like.

Willow got home a little later than she had expected but she didn't care. When you're in love not much else matters. That's what it is, she realized, I'm in love. She sighed and walked into room 214. There wasn't anyone else there. She fell onto her bed with a smile. There was only one thing on her mind. But before she had left he had promised he would see her tomorrow.

The next morning when Willow came back to the room after breakfast she saw Buffy packing a bag.

"Hey Buffy what's going on?" She asked. Buffy sighed.

"Well after the whole Faith thing I decided to spend some quality time with Mom this weekend." She said. Willow nodded.

"Well that's good. You can have some mother/daughter time." Willow said. Buffy smiled.

"Yeah that's what I figured." She said. She picked up her bag and gave Willow a hug. "You'll be cool on your on for a few days?" She asked. Willow nodded.

"Absolutely." She said. She pushed Buffy towards the door. "Now go have fun." She said. Buffy smiled and left.

Willow had just gotten back from her afternoon class when the phone rang.

"Hello." She answered.

"Hey Willow. It's Mom." Willow smiled. She hadn't heard from her mom for a while.

"Hey Mom what's up?" She asked. She heard her mother become silent on the other end. "Mom?" She asked.

"Willow it's your dad." She said. Willow felt her heart sink. "He had a heart attack and..." Willow mom couldn't finish. Willow felt tears slip down her cheeks.

"Is he..." She shook her head. It couldn't be true. Please say it isn't true, she prayed.

"He...passed this morning." She said. Willow could here her mother was crying. Suddenly some one else took the phone.

"Willow honey its Mrs. Rosenbaum. We going to take good care of your mother so don't worry. Are you going to be ok?" She asked. Willow tried to sound calm.

"I...I'll be fine." She said unsteadily. She said goodbye and got off the phone. Her world shattered. Her father was dead. She didn't want to believe it. She wanted to wake up from this awful dream. Willow sat on her bed in shock. She felt as if she couldn't breathe.

It was about nine o'clock when she heard the knock on the door. She didn't move to answer it. She didn't think she could. The door opened on it's own. It was Spike. He could instantly sense something was wrong.

"What's wrong red?" He asked. Willow shook her head and didn't say anything. Spike took his coat off and knelt down in front of her. "Willow what is it?" He asked. Willow wrapped her arms around him and began to cry. Spike just held her. She buried her face in his chest and just cried. He caressed her hair. "It will be all right." He said softly. Willow just shook her head.

"My father's dead." She said. The looked in her eyes tore at his heart. He held her tighter.

"I'm sorry." He said. And he meant it. He couldn't stand to see her in such pain. "Do you need anything?" He asked. Willow shook her head.

"Just hold me." She said. She laid down on her bad and he lay next to her. She just wanted to feel safe. She rested her head on his chest and he held her. He just wanted her to feel safe. She just kept crying. He held her until she cried herself to sleep. Spike brushed the last tear from her eye and he watched her sleep.

"It'll be all right love, I promise." He whispered to her. He softly kissed the top of her head. He would make sure it would be all right. He got up quietly and covered her with a blanket. She stirred slightly but didn't wake. He kissed her lips softly and grabbed his coat. He had work to do.

Willy's bar was quiet until the door opened. Then he saw Spike. Uh oh, Willy thought. He quietly slipped into the back. Spike looked mad. Spike looked around the bar and saw who he was looking for.

"Hey there Jake." He said to the vampire at the bar having a scotch. There were a few demons were watching and other then that the bar was empty.

"Hi Spike." He said. Spike sat down beside him.

"So I heard you took out some rich guy tonight." He said. Jake nodded smiling.

"Oh man it was so funny. The guy took one look at me and had a heart attack." He said laughing. Spike laughed with him and then suddenly grabbed Jake by the throat.

"That was my kill mate. You don't take another vampire's kill." He said. Suddenly the demons decided to take their business elsewhere. Jake looked around anxiously for help.

"Awe man I didn't know. If I had known I swear I wouldn't have done anything." He said. Spike's face changed. Jake knew he didn't have a chance.

"Sorry mate." He said. He pulled out a stake and plunged it into Jake's heart. Then he was dust. Spike picked up the whiskey and finished it. Willy reappeared.

"You really like her don't you?" He asked. Spike's face changed back and he glared at Willy.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He said darkly. Willy nodded.

"Spike you and I both know that you can't bite any one. You and I also know that the old guy was the little witch's dad. So who are you kidding?" He asked. Spike glared at him.

"Not really something I am going to discuss with you." He said. Willy nodded.

"Well just watch out for her." He said. Spike turned and walked out the door without another word.

Spike walked through the park. He wanted to go back to Willow's but what Willy had said hit him. Spike had enemies. All they needed to do was find out he fancied her and it would be all over. He couldn't put Willow in that kind of danger. He didn't want anything to happen to her.

He got back to her room just before dawn. She was still sleeping. He took his coat off and just watched her sleep. He sat and thought about everything and came to one decision. She opened her eyes and looked at him.

"Hi." She said.

"Hey." He replied. The look on his face pre-warned Willow.

"What is it?" She asked. Spike sighed.

"I have a dangerous life and the last thing in the world I want is to hurt you." He started. Willow put her hand up and stopped him.

"So we shouldn't see each other." She finished. Spike just looked into her eyes. He didn't say anything. "You don't even want to give it a chance." She said. He stood up.

"It isn't that. It's just that if anything ever happened to you I don't know what I'd do." He said. Willow nodded.

"I understand." She said softly. Then she looked up at him. "Please just leave." She said. Spike went to protest but she turned her back to him. He sighed and left. Willow felt a tear slide down her cheek but she didn't cry anymore. She didn't have any tears left.

Spike sat in his crypt and thought about the events over the last night. All he could really see was the look of betrayal on Willow's face when he left. Then he remembered what he had told her just a few nights before.

I don't know what dog boy's problem was but it certainly wasn't you, he had told her. She had smiled and asked if he meant it. Now he realized that that was why he had just told her he couldn't be with her.

"Bloody idiot." He said to himself. Then the door to the crypt opened. It was Willow. She didn't look like she there for a chat.

"I just have one thing to say." She said. "I don't care about your problems and whatever else but I liked you. I mean I really liked you. And I thought just maybe you liked me too but I guess I was wrong. You only care about yourself. All I really want is an apology." She said. He looked at her. He understood her anger and he didn't blame her.

"I'm sorry." He said quietly and Willow nodded. She turned to leave but he continued and she stopped. "But you're wrong about one thing." He said. Willow turned and looked at him.

"And what was that?" She asked. Spike looked at her.

"I don't only care about myself." He said. Willow didn't say a word. She just turned and left.

Willow sat in her room and sighed. She just wanted someone to be with her. She didn't want to be alone. She decided to call Buffy and see if she could join her and her mom when there was a knock on the door. She put the phone down and went to answer it. It was Spike and he was down on one knee. She just shook her head.

"What do you want?" She asked. Spike looked up at her.

"I was wrong. I don't know what my problems are either but I do know one thing. You are the best thing I've ever had in my long miserable life and I don't want to lose you. So please forgive me." He said. Willow shook her head and tried to hide her smile.

"And what if I don't?" She asked. Spike stood up and was only inches away from her.

"Then I'll stand right here as long as it takes." He said. Willow smiled.

"You would wouldn't you?" She asked. Spike nodded.

"Yeah I would. What do you want me to say? I was wrong. I all ready said that. I am really sorry." He said. Then he put his hand on her cheek. "How about I love you." He said. Willow smiled.

"That's what I wanted you to say." She said. He kissed her softly. Then he picked her up and spun her around. She laughed. "Just promise you won't do that again." She said. He smiled at her.

"I promise." He said.
